Susan

Dear Ladies,

Today I would like to ask your prayers for the healing of Susan Kissinger, a lady in Pennsylvania who has commented on this blog often. We have spoken on the telephone.  She has learned she has cancerous tumors in her body, and is seeking the right kind of care. I know many cases where prayer has healed people and I would like to ask anyone who inclined to pray for Susan's healing, and to pray during the next week.

I appreciate this more than you know.

Thank you.

Heavenly Father, giver of life and health: Comfort and relieve your sick servant Susan and give your power of healing to those who minister to her needs, that she may be strengthened in her weakness and have confidence in your loving care; through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

Dear Heavenly and Holy Father,
we thank you for Susan and pray your healing in Susan's body. Cause the cancerous tumors in her body to shrivel and dissolve. Let that be evident in her next check-up Lord. I pray also that you send the right doctors and nurses to tend her and guide their hands and procedures, in Jesus name I ask this and we give you the praise and glory.

I commit to pray for Susan. Please keep us posted.
Thank you Lydia for your request.

Dear Lady Lydia,

My husband and I are Christians (praise his holy name). I enjoy your blog and videos so very much! We got health problems that caused us to look outside mainstream medicine (they couldn't help us), to research that hasn't made it into the mainstream yet; some of these may help Susan.

It is not necessary to post this, but if you would be so kind as to pass this on to your friend Susan. Then she could decide whether and of this is helpful to her...

This is a TedTalk by Dr. Dominic D'Agostino (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fM9o72ykww) At about 5 minutes in, he begins talking about the brain and how it is fueled, then goes into how the ketogenic diet starves cancer in his research).
Dr. Thomas Seyfried - Is researching Ketogenic diet and cancer (a high fat, very moderate protein, low carbohydrate way of eating - puts the body into fat burning mode, seems to starve many forms of cancer). Here is a youtube video of one of his talks (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEE-oU8_NSU). He also wrote the book: Cancer as a Metabolic Disease.
There are a lot of Ketogenic diet resources = for example Maria Emmerich has some recipes on her site (mariamindbodyhealth.com) and has written cookbooks, Jimmy Moore and Dr.Adam Nally have a Keto Talk podcast every week where they answer listener questions (http://ketotalk.com/). Jimmy Moore also wrote: Keto Clarity with Eric Westman, MD, which answers questions about this way of eating.

Fasting may also be helpful (http://www.hope4cancer.com/information/healing-cancer-on-time-how-intermittent-fasting-may-help.html)
Dr. Jason Fung is a nephrologist (kidney MD) from Canada. He found that fasting (intermittent, longer) for people who have type 2 diabetes will lower their insulin. I don't know if your friend has this issue or not... High insulin can feed cancer. He wrote: The Complete Guide to Fasting (with Jimmy Moore) and The Obesity Code. He has a practice in Canada, and also runs Intensive Dietary Management (https://intensivedietarymanagement.com/) for people who wish to consult regarding fasting that are not in Canada. People who should not fast, according to his clinical experience, are those who are underweight or anorexic. People who have type 2 diabetes need to do this with a Doctor so they don't go hypoglycemic at the beginning.
There is also a weekly talk with Jimmy Moore and Megan Ramos , who runs Intensive Dietary Management Under Dr. Fung, where they answer questions people email in about fasting (http://www.fastingtalk.com/).

Another helpful website is Dietdoctor.com, headed by Swedish MD Andreas Eenfeldt. In Sweden the government looked at the data and decided oficially that the low carbohydrate or ketogenic diet is safe (after a challenge from Swedish doctors who felt it wasn't). There are recipes, news, Jason Fung posts - they also charge a low monthly membership fee to access videos from many experts in the field. My husband and I have never joined - there is still alot of free material.

Thank you for your and Susan's consideration.

We are praying for her.

Dear Lydia I cannot thank you enough for posting this blog for me. I can feel all your prayers and am comforted. My sleep has been more rested and I am dealing with the anxiety better knowing you are all thinking about me.

I have carefully looked at all the advice and information sent to me. I was already considering some of these diets and am now incorporating them into a daily protocol. I have always been slender and so have to be careful not to lose any more weight so I am doing a combination of fasting and diet.

We are seeking help from both modern medicine and alternative clinics. I will not be going the traditional route by any means but I need to hear all the alternatives to make a decision. At this point just navigating the doctors and clinics has become an extreme challenge and prayer is needed to find the right doctors. In the local rural area where I live they just don't have the resources we need. We will have to branch out into nearby cities.

I received a small miracle this morning in the form of a phone call from a local women's program telling me that I will be receiving full insurance coverage through their program for the next 45 days. This will cover any doctor or medicine and is such a blessing and weight off my shoulders. An answer to prayer truly.

I would like to let all the wonderful ladies out there that read Lydia's blog know that self care and health checkups are very important. I always had a tendency to put my needs last and so had neglected checkups and some symptoms that would have had this discovered quicker. We have a responsibility to ourselves and our families to keep ourselves healthy. Our bodies are sacred and deserve the best of care. Please love yourself.

I believe I can be completely healed of this disease despite what modern medicine might say. I remain positive and pray constantly. Miracles happen every day. Thank you so much for your support everyone. I will keep Lydia informed of my progress.

Blessings to all of you.

Susan

Just another perspective, there is a whole group of people who believe the low-carb diet contributes to chronic disease, rather than a carb-rich, low-fat, vegan diet. The book "The China Study" is about reversing and preventing cancer, with a lot of scientific data to confirm findings. Worth a read, I would almost beg you to read it or listen to an online video about it. I have a degree in Clinical Nutrition and I really believe the science is faulty on the low-carb end of things, but I mean no insult to any one else suggesting it, I know it is being promoted very heavily right now.
Praying for you!

Dear Lady Lydia and Susan,

The Charlie Foundation is a good resource for the Ketogenic Diet. It was
founded by a father whose son had terrible seizures. Now they provide resources for many other conditions, including cancer (https://www.charliefoundation.org/ketogenic-therapy/therapies-2/brain-tumor-cancer).

Here is a youtube video of Dr. Dominic D'Agostino.(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWRnma8Tet0). (I missed hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), which research has found is very effective for cancer, especially when coupled with the ketogenic diet.) Dr. D'Agostino begins to speak about cancer at 30:30: How to implement metabolic therapy, the Charlie Foundation as a resource, 2 ketogenic diet for cancer books that he recommends at 48:04. Challenges to beginning and compliance at 50:49. Resources are shown at 1:01:57.

God bless you and keep you!

Dear Susan,

I am so glad to join others in prayer for your health. I would like to share some health remedies that have helped me battle my own health problems. I was having chronic heart attacks (minor attacks but still very frightening for me) but have been able to completely stop them with the use of turmeric root (not the powder) the actual root and putting it into a smoothie that also had (baby kale, berries, banana). Turmeric is excellent for brain health and for fighting certain types of cancer. I also find organic apple cider vinegar (with the mother) to be very healing. Clarifying of cells, removing excess fat and improving absorption of nutrients. I never take more than 2 tsp and only a few times per week as an excess can cause potassium deficiency. I try to keep a very "cactus like" aloe plant in my kitchen to snack on. This is excellent for healing and restoring organs in the body. I usually have a few bites by itself though others prefer to hide it in a smoothie. Try to get the kind with the thick cactus like leaves as they have much more healing properties. There is an old proverb that says that good broth can raise the dead. There's a lot of truth in that especially a broth that is full of collagen. I prefer to use chicken feet due to the convenience of the cooking but any kind of bone broth with lots of vegetables is very healing. my favorites to add are rutabagas as they are very stroke preventive (something i have to fight) and celery and onions as they mask the strong flavor of the bone broth. This type of collagen is not only healing to all the connective tissues (joints, cartilage, bones, skin, and hair) but is wonderful for the nervous system. When this collagen in the soup reaches the stomach all the nerves in the intestine are very soothed by it and helps to heal the entire nervous system in the body. I find it most helpful for my heart episodes and to return my heart to a normal rhythm. To get the most absorption and hydration into your cells its important to keep your sodium/potassium balanced by a low sodium diet. Whenever we eat very salty foods (takeout, pizza and the like) the body compensates for this excess sodium by causing the potassium to leave the cells. This makes the heart work harder and raises blood pressure. Try to get your sodium intake from salty vegetables like celery, beets, tomatoes, avocadoes, and dark greens. This will promote healthier cells and a much healthier vascular system. Try to get a lot of bioflavonoids in your diet with eating the white pith of citrus foods this will protect your veins and arteries and is full of anti oxidants and finally to heal your cellular walls and keep them as healthy as possible try to avoid Omega 6 fats by avoiding stir frys or oils that are heated. Even coconut oil becomes omega 6 when it is heated. I always use water instead of fats to "stir fry." And then get my fats from chia seeds, avocados, raw nuts, and butternut squash (steamed) The squash is very high in vitamin E and Omega 3 fatty acids which heal the cellular wall. Hope this is helpful. God bless!

I agree about kale. After eating it I began to crave it and now I grow it in my garden. It gets sweeter in winter and like herbs, continues growing after clipping it
